Weimar Ladycat Softball 2013

There is no question that this years ladycat softball team will be very good. They were good last year at the 2A level but this years' team will be better. They will be adding a couple of quality freshman players to a very strong returning class. If the pitching holds up, which I think it will. this team player for player will be as good as any we've had in the past. High expectations, but I believe they will live up to them!

With y'all in thrown in the mix our district should be very interesting I see y'all coming in as district champs and everyone else fighting for playoff spots.....on another note I heard the kid from Ganado has like 7 (3-D1) colleges looking at her

Ladycats are off to a 6 and 1 and still haven't played a game with all of their projected starters on the field at one time due to injuries and basketball play-offs. They should have everyone playing this weekend as they host the Weimar Ladycat tourney. Ganado will be there so it will give both teams a chance to see what they have to battle in district. The Ladycats won the Rockdale tournment this past weekend defeating Rockdale in the championship game.

Ladycats win their own tourney this weekend going 5 and 0 and beating Lexington 8 to 2 in the championship game. I thought we would have all projected starters back by now but we played the entire tournament with one playing very little and the other not playing at all.

Ladycats start out district with a big 5 to 1 win over a good Shiner team.

Lady cats played in the San Marcos tourney over the weekend. Lost their 2 pools games to a very good Houston St. Pius team and the to a very good Santa Gertrudis team. This put them in the bronze bracket which they proceeded to win with 4 straight victories. Not a bad showing all in all. Ladycats faced some very good pitching in most games.

Ladycats improve to 3 and 0 in district with a 9 to 0 win over an under-manned Flatonia team. Flatonia girls looked lost having to play so many players at new positions.

After watching the Ladycats for the year, they are certainly turning out to be the team I thought they would be. I think they will be very tough to beat in the region and have the ability to win it all. After beating the Shiner Lady Comanches last week 11 to 0 was good enough for me to finally say, man, this team is pretty darn good. We all know everyone is beatable on any given day, but for someone to beat this team 2 out of 3 in the playoffs would be difficult, not impossible, just very difficult.
